Yala Rajabhat University joined the Mangrove Reforestation Project to mark the 88th Anniversary of Rajabhat Day

On February 5, 2022, the Volunteer Centre (Jit-Asa) and Student Division Centre of Yala Rajabhat University joined in the ‘Planting Volunteer for Mangrove Reforestation Project’ at Sapan Mai Bana,  Tambon Bana, Amphur Muang, Pattani to celebrate the Yala Rajabhat University Anniversary.

About 80 participants who attended this activity were the lecturers, staff and students from YRU, including government sectors, community groups and villagers in Pattani.

One of the important activities includes an environmental protection lecture on the topic of mangrove forestation, planting, and conservation held by the Chairman of the Bana Mangrove Forest Enterprise Group.

The project aims to increase biodiversity and create a nursery for aquatic animals living in the area through the restoration of degraded mangrove forests in southern Thailand.

With regard to environmental sustainability development, YRU has attained the greater potential to contribute to it by increasing more green spaces, not only on the campus but also in the surrounding community in the southernmost region.
